We meet Volken and his posse as they go and try rescuing a bunch of slave people who have no desire for life and are embedded with bombs. Volken doesn't like the fact that these people are just labeled as "meat" so his passion for justice sours above others.

While he tries to get a bunch of them off the bomb filled ship, it blows up and everyone drops in the water. Volken sees one boy just floating downward under the water adn pulls him up, puts him on a piece of wreckage to hold him, but he just sinks back down and Volken screams asking him why he doesn't want to live. The boy sinks and Volken gets on with his day. While the boy is sinking, a piece of a book hits his chest and he has some kind of flash/vision of some chick telling him she has had many names and that she loves him for no reason at all.

Later on we learn that when people die, they turn into "books". By books i mean a rectangular piece of brittle stop tablets.



Volken and his partner/obvious love interest Mirepoch have a talk with their boss/director Hamutz aka Hamy, she gets on his nerves about something and he storms aoff with his partner and she's all like, hey it's okay, i felt the same way about wanting to save those people. Hamutz wants books from the bad guys who are putting bombs into people because they have power and show stuff, so she put that as priority above rescuing the meats.



That drowning boy from earlier shows up walking around int eh city when a badguy picks him up and tells him to kill Hamutz since he apparently has a bomb in him. and a piece of a book as well. He goes off with that guy along with two other bomb people. Later on that night he's thinking about that woman in his vision and how she said she loved him and he's all like, i can't be loved and some nonsense.

Note - Hamutz is probably gonna annoy me in this show becaus ei hate characters who say stupid things like "i'm going after the one person that can kill me". i hate that crap it's so dumb."
