Bakemonogatari Ep. 10 Posted by shadysaiyan | September 15, 2009 | 4:37 PM
Araragi goes to Oshino's and tells him the situation with Sengoku. She got cursed by a friend of hers who liked some guy, but that guy liked her and when he confessed to her, Sengoku turned him down. Her friend cursed her for that. After that, Sengoku went to the library and looked up Snake curses and then started killing snakes at the shrine because she thought that was the way to lift the curse. The method was correct, but since she wasn't doing it right and the fact that the shrine is a spiritually active place, she was unlucky and the curse actually progressed.
Araragi returns home and tells them that thanks to Oshino, he's got the ritual to uncurse Sengoku and they will be doing it tonight. He tells her that the ritual requires some things and maybe a little heavy lifting so he asks Kanbaru to help him with the preparation. They actually go into another room and Araragi tells Kanbaru that Oshino said that Sengoku would probably die if they didn't do the ritual tonight. She would die when the scales reach her face. He tells her that Sengoku is feeling pain because of the constricting, but she must be holding it in.
They make their way to the shrine and Araragi finds that Kanbaru has given Sengoku a swimsuit to wear. Araragi only needed her to wear something revealing enough for them to see the scales go away, but Kanbaru said she only made her wear that so she could fit into his fetishes. He tells Sengoku to lay on the blanket and pray while holding the charm Oshino gave him. She tells him to look at her (because she secretly loves him). A few minutes later they start to see the scales coming off all in a flashy way.
They notice that Sengoku looks like she in pain. Kanbaru suggests that they pull the snake off in one go, but he tells her that Oshino told thim that if he did that, the snake would try and bind to him and if it couldn't, it would go back to the person who cursed her. Araragi then realizes while looking at Sengoku that there were in fact 2 snakes, one must have been from the guy she rejected as well. He runs over to her and grabs it even though he can't see it.
He throws it to the ground and it bites him and breaks his wrist. He ca see it's movements in the grass, so he gets ready to do something while he sits on his knees waiting for it to attack him. As it gets closer, Kanbaru jumps in and holds him down telling him that snakes will away if you are still and calm. They sit there for a minute and the snakes goes away and will apparently return the the person who placed the curse.
Sengoku gets up a little tired, but thanks him for saving her, he tells her not to though. In his mind he doesn't want the thanks because he tried to save the person who cursed her by trying to kill the snake.
