Araragi and Kanbaru go to a shrine to place an Ofuda on it since he owes Oshino for helping Kanbaru before. On there way up, a girl runs down the long stairway without saying a word. Aararagi thinks he remembers her, but he doesn't say anything as she continues to run, so they continue their way up.

Once they get there, they see the shrine is all collapsed and run down, but Araragi places the Ofuda on the shrine doors like he was old to do. He goes and finds Kanbaru and she is staring at a tree in a daze. Araragi taps her and she snaps out of it, so she tells him to look at the tree and they see that there are a bunch of dead snakes nailed to the tree. Kanbaru wasn't feeling all that well once they reached the top, so after they saw the dead snakes, they decided to just get out of there.

Araragi goes to the library the next day and asked Hanekawa to be there as well. he asked her if she would help him pick out some reference books. He said it's about time to focus on his future since he's been talking about it with Senjogahara lately. He's now aiming for the same university she is, but he told Hanekawa not to tell her yet since he doesn't want her to get any weird ideas. He tells her about what him and Kanbaru saw the previous day and Hanekawa told him that the shrine there was for a Snake god and that whoever was killing those snakes were doing it for the snake god.

SHe then goes on to tell him not to get too friendly with Kanbaru even though Senjogahara told him not to upset her or anything. She wants them to be friends but not too close and a line needs to be drawn. Hanekawa then puts her hand on his face and slowly reaches in to kiss him on the lips and then stops like an inch away from his mouth, lets go and tells him that he's too kind to everyone and needs to learn to resist temptation. After that talk, Araragi asks what university Hanekawa is going to and she says she's not going to one, she's going to go travel the world for a while since she wants real world experience. She tells him not to tell anyone about it yet though, because it would really surprise them. She then gets some kind of headache and then goes home.

Araragi notices that girl Sengoku from before and watches her for a sec as she looks at a book. After she walks away, he goes and see's what book she was looking at and it was an encyclopedia of snake curses. He goes and looks for her, then calls up Kanbaru to meet him. They meet up at the bottom of the shrines staircase. He tells her that he knows that girl because she used to be a friend of his younger sister. He wanted Kanbaru there to talk to her in case Sengoku freaked out because she didn't remember him. Araragi goes to the top of the shrine and finds Sengoku about to kill another snake. He calls out to her and gets her to comes back to his house with Kanbaru.



At Araragi's house, Kanbaru starts looking for his porn, bu he's not having that. She goes on to say that she was stalking him a while ago and knows all his fetishes and that not girl would want to do that!. But she would easily. Sengoku asks them if they would turn around for a second, so they do and when they are told it's okay, they see Sengoku sitting there in nothing but bloomers clovering up her chest with her hands. Araragi and Kanbaru are both a little shocked, but don't seem to mind much. Sengoku asks Araragi if he feels dirty when looking at her, but he says no. He then goes back and corrects himself on that though. They notice the marks on her naked body and they look like marks from snake scales.

She tells him she hates her body and she wants him to save her.
